looking for a catholic college in northeast where the staff and the students are into being catholic.. 1970 sat score, 1260 on math and reading. Son liked Siena, Fordham. Applying to St. Joe's in PA. Did not like scranton or marist. Is it a stretch to say he may get into holy cross. Missed the ea for villanova, now not sure if we should apply. Money is as issue. Very interested in looking at St. Francis in Brooklyn Heights.. Possible a Physcian assistant major. He liked St. John's as a home school choice but I'm not sure how catholic that school would feel to him.. Also appylied to Sacred Heart and Fairfield but worried about snooty rich kid college! He is paying for most of the cost sooo scholarship money is key!!!! thank YOU!

Lemoyne College in Syracuse, NY is a very nice Jesuit school with an excellent Physician Assistant Grad program. I have two relatives that graduated from Lemoyne who said there is a definite Catholic presence on the campus that is open to all. Take a look at their website. Also, if you go to Lemoyne and stay for Grad school in the Physician Assistant program I have been told you can begin taking classes toward becoming a PA in your senior year, thereby lessening your course load and cost.

I can’t remember the spelling, but it’s in Buffalo: Canisius? It looks like a nice school, but I don’t know if majors would fit for [you].

Mercy College is Catholic and in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Well Mercy Isn’t REALLY catholic. I’m not even sure that’s part of their brochures anymore- By that I mean It may not be good for a kid looking for a school with people "into being catholic.

I noticed you wrote in “The Northeast” if he’s into DC he can try American University.

Maybe Mount St. Mary’s (MD) would fit the bill.

Although Duquesne in Pittsburgh is not on the list, it felt quite Catholic to us and has a PA program.

American University isn’t Catholic, in fact it has a Methodist affiliation (according to wikipedia).

However, Catholic University of America is (obviously) Catholic, and given that it has a Vatican affiliation, may be “more” Catholic than others.

OMG you’re right! I’m so sorry lol I always get them confused, since Rey have America & are both in DC Lmaoo

St. John’s is pretty Catholic, they just have a very diverse student body. But, Marymount Manhattan College (not very Catholic, but is still affiliated I think) and Manhattan College are both options. Both are in NYC.

What about Mount St Marys in Newburgh or College of St. Rose in Albany?
