Catholic feel at SCU

What is the Catholic/Jesuit feel on campus? Do a lot of students go to mass on the weekend? Also do a lot of Jesuits teach classes?

The majority of courses are not taught by priests. There are a handful of priests that do teach a few religion, math, and other courses but most classes are taught at different times by different professors meaning you can choose if you do or don’t want a priest to teach your class.

Being involved with religion on campus comes in many forms and is something that many students choose to be or not be part of. A good number of students do go to mass on weekends. SCU also has many student run religious groups that meet during the week and on weekends offer rides to other churches in the surrounding community if you are not catholic. There also is a large percentage of students that are not affiliated with the church at all. While SCU does let Jesuit values influence many of their decisions they do a great job of making sure that everyone regardless of religious affiliation feels welcomed and is able to have a safe, fun, and educational experience at SCU.
