Hello, All,

If you saw my pass rates post, you will notice that I could not find any info for DC area pass rates. Does anyone know where I can find that? I am looking for Catholic U of America specifically (but maybe others would like to know about Georgetown?).

I will email/ask CUA if not, but was hoping to get a link where I could look at a few years/gov docs. I will update the post as well.

Thanks!

The last NCLEX scores for Catholic Univ. I could find are 74.2% in 2011 and 76.75 for 2010. CUA is modifying its 4 year BSN Program beginning in 8/2014. Students interested in the Nursing major will be admitted to the Nursing Exploratory Program for their first 2 years. To continue in the Nursing Major in the Junior year students must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5, have a science GPA (3 specific Bio courses and 2 specific Chem courses) of at least 2.75, and in their sophomore year must score at least 75% on the HESI Entrance Exam (This is different from the HESI End of Program Exam given to Senior Nursing students). It is my understanding that CUA has been having some problems with its Nursing grads successfully completing the NCLEX exam on their first try. This appears inconsistent with the historical perspective of CUA having one of the best Nursing Programs on the East coast. I suspect the change noted above is their attempt to address this issue. Hope this info helps.

I don’t know how reliable the following info are, here is the link

Catholic U , apx 83%

Thanks Mwallenmd and FlowerMom!

So if I am understanding correctly Catholic U is not actually (or no longer) a direct entry nursing program?

That changes things for us.

Just looked on Catholic’s website and yes, what Mwallenmd posted is all correct. Thanks!!!

Hello Cakeisgreat
yeah, I looked at Catholic U website yesterday & it looked like a " 2+2 " program to me.
Georgetown is direct entry & deadline is Jan 10 if you still need to apply to one more school.
Good luck
