Hi there - looking to see if anyone is accepting the CUA MT program and what they have heard about the program. My D was accepted and is trying to decide whether to accept. She didn’t get into her top MT program. The program looks good on paper. Any thoughts?
@spatterson my daughter is an MT at Catholic. It’s an amazing program with a great reputation. Everyone who graduates from the program is working. I think the oldest MT program in the country actually. Message me for more info.
My D has also been accepted! Our only issue right now is cost. Does anyone have any information about scholarships?
My daughter is an MT at Catholic. One of the most well-rounded programs there is with a stellar reputation. Feel free to message me.
@spatterson my S was admitted to MT as well. He is doing Cardinal for a day this Tuesday, taking ballet and acting class with present students. We met with head Jay Brock and he was wonderful. very convincing that this is a great program. Cost might be a factor as we are regular decision and have not received money offers yet. I think the envelope will arrive today or Monday. Beautiful campus in a prime location. Metro right on campus, 2 stops to Union station. Definitely worth a top tier consideration.
@bwaymamma has a daughter there and speaks volumes about how nice the program is.
@collegemom2000 can you speak about the intensity and choices of acting classes. My son is an actor, singer first, dancer last. Wants to be challenged acting wise. I imagine your daughter is a junior? Class of 2000?
@collegeboundSam she is a freshman. I dont know much about the acting classes, Freshman year they take a required acting workshop which I hear is very good.
Thanks all I am living the comments. My daughter will be attending the accepted student event in April. Hoping she can come to a decision!!
Hi! My D is accepted too and right now it’s a top choice. She will be going to the acceoted students day in April to check it out. Have only heard good things so far from current students; would love any more feedback!!! Thanks!
@LIMTMom I have nothing but good things to say about the program except perhaps the cost. They do give nice scholarships unlike schools such as JMU which are expensive and give nothing in the way of scholarships to incoming freshman.

Thank you!
My D will be attending Accepted Students Day next Friday, as well. She loved the school when she went on campus to audition last fall. @bwaymamma @collegemom2000 I don’t see additional charges for certain classes like dance or voice in the course catalog and I know they can add it up at some of the other schools my D is looking at. Do you find there are a lot of extra fees? Also, how much dance is in the curriculum (it goes by credit on the website but I don’t know how often they would meet).
@NYart15 yes there area additional fees for dance and voice. It is per semester. Those are essentially the only extra fees that I recall for the MT program. And yes, there is a lot of dance in the curriculum, which is a good thing. My daughter take dance classes this semester, tap, ballet and modern. Tap and ballet are twice a week and modern is just one day a week. It really is going to depend on the class.
Required dance for MT that is extra $$??
@MTPhillyMom yes there is a fee associated with each dance class. I understand this is common in many MT programs.
