So, I feel like it is time to do the cliche thread and post stats of those who have been accepted!

Son accepted last week on Cardinal Station with Honors program invite; he hasn’t received anything via mail. Stats:
SAT: 1470/1600, 2160/2400
ACT: 34
GPA: 3.97 Weighted (3.58 unweighted, but HS only reports weighted; HS is one of the top 30 public HS in NJ
Class rank: HS does not report
Excurriculars very heavy on community service (including being a catechist), karate

The level of scholarship offered will greatly influence his enthusiam for CUA. Haven’t heard anything yet, though in the past, timing is very late December, early January for initial offers.

Son did get two thick envelopes in the mail today, one from admissions and one from the honors college. The one from admissions, in addition to the acceptance letter, also contained a letter indicated that he was nominated as a candidate for the Archdiocesan Scholarship. This letter indicated that he would be told on Tuesday, March 12 if he is semi-finalist. If so, he would need to interview during the weeks of March 18th and March 25th.

Now he is more excited!

Since we are in the Diocese of Trenton, he is also eligible for the Most Reverend David M. O’Connell Service Scholarship, also for full tuition.

So he has two tickets in the full tuition lottery.

Nice.

We found out my son got in Wednesday & received a letter that he will receive $18,000 Merit & $1,000 Alumni Grant. Since we are not Catholic I do not believe there are any other scholarships he can get. Sadly his father was laid off the Monday before Thanksgiving, so we will have to see what FAFSA & the New Year bring.

Son also got his scholarship letter yesterday: 20k (17k merit & 3k parish).

Kat – I’m so sorry to hear about your husbands job. Note that you do not need to be Catholic for the archdiocesan full tuition scholarship. Did you receive you admission packet in the mail? When you do, there should be a second letter, right behind the admit letter, if your son is also eligible for the archdio scholarship.

Thanks mtown27, unfortunately his GPA is not high enough. We will keep looking for other options.

My son received his scholarship ryesterday. 17,000 + $3,000 Parish. What is the GPA for the Archdiocesan Scholarship? I think this would be a good fit for my son, but I was hoping he might qualify for a bit more.

Accepted into nursing program with 21k scholarship (18 academic 3 parish & alum)
Stats:
1790/2400
28 ACT
3.7 gpa
I am waiting to hear back from a few schools but Catholic is most definitely on the top of my list!

Do I have a shot, with an 19 ACT score, a 19 in math,18 in reading,17 in english and 20 in science, with a gpa of 3.11111?

Just thought I would bump this back up. Has anyone decided if they are going here?

My son has this on his long list – it would go to the top of the short list if he receives a call on 3/12 about interviewing for the Presidential Scholarship.

When do they notify about scholarship? with the acceptance letter? My daughter should at least receive the parish and the alum $$$ and based on her offers from other schools and some, more than that. Acceptance came today. but nothing else

Scholarship notification (university / parish) came about a week or so after acceptance for my son.

Oddly, I got my academic merit award before my official acceptance came in the mail. I was accepted way back because I applied early action. I got $20,000 total as well. My GPA is 3.45 and my SAT is 1850. I have pretty good extracurriculars and wrote a strong essay.

S13 also received his academic award with his EA acceptance. Any news as to when the FA packages are going out?

Somehow I got waitlisted. I applied here as a backup, so I guess they thought I had no interest in going.

SAT: 2230(1460)
ACT: 34
GPA: 3.65 UW (3.8 W)

@peme
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I have a 2160 SAT, and I got deferred earlier this year. I thought they were just deferring me until they would accept me at regular decision, but nope, waitlisted. I think they’re waiting for me to write them an email telling them that I am seriously considering CUA. If you do that I am sure you’ll get in.

So, anyone commit yet?

Daughter weighing FA packages of 3 engineering programs.

Got waitlisted. Was accepted 4.6.13 after they re-evaluated my application and I visited the campus. I requested an interview, so I guess that showed initiative. Also got offered a 19K scholarship.

Stats:
GPA: 4.1 (weighted) 3.1 (unweighted)
SAT: 1700
ACT: 24
Heavy on the extracurriculars with several leadership positions. Very involved in my church and a member on the Diocesan Youth Board.

I’m don’t think there’s a formula for acceptance. You just have to have a certain something that convinces them that they need you.
