Catholic University of America vs. St. Joseph's

I've just about finalized the list of schools I'm applying to and all that's left is deciding on my safety school. I'm stuck between Catholic and St. Joe's (hence, the title), so basically, I'm looking for opinions. I'm considering a career in politics (making Catholic's location appealing) or maybe broadcast journalism. As of right now I'm considering getting a degree in Economics, PoliSci, or English (I'll most likely double major). They're both pricey schools, but does anyone have a scope as to which tends to offer more FA (that aren't loans). Overall, what do you guys think would be the better choice- academically, socially, etc.? What are the reputations of each school? Is one considered more intellectual than the other?

In short, give me the lowdown on each and which you would choose or if they're good safeties at all lol. (Btw, sorry for the excessive parenthesis ;))

bump… 10 char

St. Joe’s has more of a reputation, and is more competitive. Which leads me to think you’ll get more aid at CUA. But that is debatable.

The location of both will aid in what you want to study. So that shouldn’t turn you off from St. Joe’s, because Philly is close to DC as well.

Socially, you would probably prefer St. Joe’s, unless you are hardcore conservative Catholic and from DC.

Your choice. Good luck!
