Catholic University

Anyone know anything about their MT program? How hard is it to get into? How many people do they usually take? What about for transfer students?

My daughter was accepted here. I would also like to get feedback. I am hearing that the BA in Arts might be preferable since there is a lot of general education liberal arts in it.

But that is dependent on an individual's goals. The Musical Theatre program is very conservatory from what I have seen.

Let's both hope for some more feedback.

I got accepted a few days ago as well, I just want some feedback from any alumnis. Thanks ;)

I should probably not give input here, as this is a school we did not look at; however, I am aware of a graduate from there who said that the music training is very good and that the dance training in the MT program is perhaps not as good as at some other programs.

I am curious as to what criteria CU uses to make its selection decisions in its acting program, as auditions are not required to get in and CU, as a whole, has a relatively high acceptance rate. I am also curious as to the 'safety' factor. Their published crime data is not too bad - lots of stolen cars. Is the campus OK? We were planning to visit this Spring.

Catholic Accepts a high percentage, but remember the cost of goiing their is quite expensive so they assume quite a few won't accept. The enrollment rate is quite normal.

I am going to inquire about the selectivity of the MT program. It seems quite normal to be admitted to a theatre program without an audition.

The neighborhhood is gentrified. The campus appears quite safe, awesome architechture, right next the National Shrine and across the street from Trinity College, a women's college with beautiful architecture. It is a few Metro stops from the Capitol, monuments and museums. That is a real plus. The only thing is you would need to be careful coming home late at night. I would expect that campus security would meet you at the subway stop, as they are doing on many campuses.

You will love D.C. The Cherry Bloosoms bloom April 1 - 7. I grew up in DC and spent some years in Brookland, near CU. It has changed of course, but DC is an awesome city.

Thanks SouthernMDmom. Your comments are helpful. And my S will like the news that Trinity is nearby.

We are off to CU's Odessy day tomorrow - a meeting for all new attendees.
It looks like Catholic's MT program is surfacing to the top for us. Hope to see some of you there.

bump…
