<p>I am more concerned about the academic side above, these are my ECs, really focused, not as concerned with them:</p>

<p>Speech and Debate 10-12th
Extemporaneous Speaking, local and state awards
Public Forum Debate, local and state awards
Participation in national competitions, including at Yale, 12th grade
Team's Debate Captain, Assistant Secretary</p>

<p>Mock Trial Club 9-12th:
Founder after participation in a county mock trial club with the Holland and Knight Law Firm, where I won Best Opening Statement
President 11-12th
Led team to 2nd place win at regionals</p>

<p>Student Government 10-12th:
Sophomore Class Secretary
Junior Class Historian
(12th grade) SGA Secretary</p>

<p>Chinese School 10-12th:
3rd Place at Annual Storytelling Festival, both 10th and 11th grades
speaking, writing, reading Mandarin</p>

<p>Went to China summer before 11th, 100 hours volunteering in 3 orphanages with disabled children
Church and family now sponsoring an orphan I met there</p>

<p>I am interested in US-Chinese relations, hence learning the language, improving speaking/debating skills</p>

<p>What are my chances at the top schools, specifically Georgetown, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, University of Chicago, Berkeley, any other Ivy Leagues..... any hope with strong ECs but not as strong academics??????</p>

<p>You have great stats and all, but you arent close at ALL to the SAT ranges of those schools...</p>

<p>Learning Chinese is great, but probably not as unusual as you think. I spent my junior year of high school in China with a group from all over the US, living with host families. Several of us went back to teach this summer. Chinese was popular at my high school and surely is at many others. </p>

<p>It's great, but it won't make up for sub par stats. Your SATs just aren't in range for most of your schools.</p>

<p>You have a shot at Georgetown. For the others, a 1500 plus (math and cr) and strong SATIIs (high 700s) would put you in the running.</p>
