So I skipped a day of school on the day of a brutal English test and when you miss school on the day of the test, they put your exam in the testing center where you are able to make it up. So I go in there and have my phone in my lap with the study guide and all is well until the supervisor sneaks in front of me and sees my phone. At that point I quickly shut it off and give it to her and she sends me right to the dean. When I get there, the dean has me open my phone and the study guide is right there, but I made sure to be very calm and collected while lying to her that my phone was constantly buzzing and I was just turning it off and since the supervisor only saw the phone, not what was on it, I think they bought it, or at least didn’t have the evidence to punish me. I received a zero on the test of course and it destroyed my already terrible grade, but no punishment beyond that and an email to my counselor. They also said that this would not appear on my record since I have no history of cheating or behavioral problems. If you’re reading this, don’t cheat. I got lucky, I can guarantee you won’t.
Well, thanks for the cautionary tale. Cheating is just about one of the best ways to ruin your college chances. Thanks for warning others.
