Caught plagiarism and so worry about that...Need Help!

Just been told that I submitted a final paper that was plagiarized last quarter, and Imma gonna meet with the dean next week. I am a international student and that was my first quarter study in US, my English is poor and I just want to use some good sentences in my paper. The turnitin says there is 10% plagiarism. What should I do!? Am I gonna be suspended one or two quarter (like the student conduct code says) or even be kicked out!? It is so horrible! I don't want be like this!!
I am so worry about this now and I really need some help!

Thanks a lot!

How does 10 percent = plagiarism?

If there are whole sentences that the OP lifted because he wanted “good sentences,” that could do it. An English comp teacher is pretty good at recognizing when sentences or even phrases seem out of character of the writer, especially of the sentences are constructed very well, and the OP has been a struggling writer all semester.

I actually copied just maybe 2-3 sentences from an article on the internet, and I also used the goole translator to translate some sentences from my native language to English. Now I received the requirement to meet with the dean……so……I really afraid that I will be suspended!

Plagiarism is plagiarism. Trivializing the extent to which you plagiarized does nothing to help you. It doesn’t matter if it was “just” two sentences or if it was two pages. Either way, the gravity of the charge is severe enough to warrant significant repercussions—repercussions that are well-deserved, by the way. You are in college. There’s absolutely no reason why you should not know what plagiarism constitutes or how to avoid it. Neither your international status nor your lack of English proficiency are valid excuses.

At this point, your best option is to admit to plagiarizing, say it was a one-time mistake, and hope for leniency.

I don’t know if it can help, say somehing like perhaps you forgot to cite…did not mean to copy. You should be very careful next time when submitting paper. It needs to be your own words and ideas.
