It really isn't like it seems. I have a tendency to put my cellphone in my hoodie pocket and hadn't realized that I still had my cellphone on me during the midterm. I know that sounds stupid but I really didn't know it until I got up and used the restroom. Once I knew, I freaked out (obviously) but otherwise decided to keep it a secret out of fear. Everything was okay until I finished the exam and the ta asked for my cellphone. I told her that it was in my pocket and quickly apologized. She said that it was ok but this morning, I received an email from my professor asking to see me in his office today after class. I'm freaking out. I had forgotten to bubble in the A on my scantron for my ID as well but he could have easily gotten that from TED (which he already has updated). What is going to happen? Am I going to be suspended? how is that going to affect my financial aid if I am suspended? My family has been going through some rough times and the last thing I want is to be suspended from school...especially when all of my extended family is here as well. If the professor reviews cctv footage, hell find mewalking to the side of the building literally freaking out while I'm holding my cell phone.

Possibly the TA will tell him you outed yourself and didn’t take it out and it will just be a warning. Good luck.

I worry about this myself because they are so lax on the ‘no taking cell phones into tests’ around my area, relying on honor code, that kids don’t think it is a big deal to keep their phone on them so they can text Mom to pick them up when it is over or whatever. I think a lot of kids are in for a big surprise when they get to college and people really ‘mean that’.
