Anyone else not get the DELL they ordered because of some issue at DELL? D did not get her's Saturday (we ordered it two months ago) and we have been told others were impacted but she has not run into anyone else who did not get what they ordered. Just wondering if there were only a few missing or a lot.

Yikes, sorry about that! No, D’s was waiting for hers in her dormroom when we moved her in on Saturday - she ordered the 14" Dell.

By chance was her’s the 15"? I ask only because when I checked the cav computers order form when we went to order D’s that the 15" option was gone and I assumed it was high demand but perhaps there was an issue with that one but that could have nothing to do with it, D wanted the 14" screen for portability so we only looked at that one.

Worst part was that they e-mailed us at 1700 the day before we made the big move to tell us it would not be delivered. We were well on the road by then so we did not know it was a problem until we opened the door and it wasn’t in the room. I had a spare laptop I could have given to her if I knew it would not be there when we arrived. So yeah, DELL was at fault but someone dropped the ball at the computer store for not checking the order earlier so a reasonable notification could be sent out. If Dell lied to them when they checked the order then the store should drop them next year.

That was the only glitch on move in day. I think the school showed they know what they are doing when it comes to move in day. Very smooth process given the large amount of things that go into this kind of an event. It went much better than I had hoped.

Do they have an ETA for it to arrive? Can they perhaps offer a spare until the one you ordered comes in? I imagine that wouldn’t be an option if they had a lot that couldn’t be delivered but without knowing the scope it might be worth asking.

Cancel your order and go to Best Buy and get an Apple MacBook. Your daughter will be up and running on the UVA network in 15 minutes.

(Sorry if this is a duplicate post…I don’t think my first attempt went through).
