I bought the CB Online Course a month ago. After my first practice test, I received a 740 verbal, 700 math, and 700 writing. After studying, I have taken all three other online test and got an average of 630 on each section. Does anyone else who has taken this course find this large discrepancy between the pre-test and the other three tests? Are the collegeboard online tests harder than the real one? Any additional tips and hints are welcomed as to how I can fix this problem. I know Barron's is harder, but I though CB's were quite accurate.

The blue book is supposedly the most accurate out there. The online tests shouldn't be much different, but I can't say anything from experience.

Actually, after scoring in the 2300-2400 ranges in the last two blue book tests, I was surprised how much my score dropped after taking one of the online tests (not the pre-test, but the first of the other three).

I missed 6 in writing, 2 in math, but TEN in CR.

I found the CR in the online test to be killer as opposed to the CR in the blue book's tests. BUT, that was only one test, and I had taken a full SAT two consecutive days in a row (was a bit "mind fried").

Anyone else?

I got a 2280 on the 1st of the online tests. First practice test I took for new SAT I.

i cant really post, but im trying the course with you...i only finished the first practice test...btw did you get your CB online course for free?

No, I did not get my online course for free. I forgot how much I paid though, 60-something dollars.

Please, I need opinions.

I really need other's thoughts.

Check their explanations and realize why you missed the questions you got wrong. Understand the concept pertaining to those questions if you do not already. Study some more and try again.

I just took the first practice test for the CB Online Course. It was really brutal. Last week, I took the March '05 Pre-test, and got a 2380 (CR 800-2 wrong, 790 M-1 wrong, and W 790-0 wrong/8 essay). Today, I took this horrible test and got 5 wrong for CR, 2 wrong for writing MC, and 1 wrong for math. The only thing I am happy about is the essay, which I got a 10 on. The middle of the ranges it gave me are 720 for CR, 765 for WR, and 775 for Math. That is a full 120 points lower than last week. I am extremely ****ed. If I use the March 05 scale, it would give me CR 740, WR 770, and Math 790, for a 2300. This would still be an 80 point drop. It was a disheartening experience, to say the least.

So I agree with YoungBuddhist and George about the abnormal difficulty of the first online test.

Has anybody else had a similar experience with the Online Course tests?
