Happy to hear that your son is having a good time at Bama! What state are you from?

Ohio.
Youngest son is a HS Junior. His 10th grade ACT score only needs to improve i ppoint and he qualifies for free out of state tuition scholarship. Plan is to send youngest down to campus during our HS spring break to allow him time with brother and get a taste of what college life at UA is like.

Good luck for your youngest?

If your younger son got a 31 as a sophomore, he’ll likely get at least a 32 by the time he’s a senior in the fall. Also have him take the SAT if Writing is a lower score (Bama only counts SAT M + CR for scholarships)

What is his intended major? If it’s Eng’g or Comp Sci, then the Engineering dept will increase the OOS scholarship to full tuition with an ACT 30. See below.

Students who have a 30-31 ACT or 1330-1390 SAT (math and verbal scores only) and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will receive a tuition supplement to bring their University-level scholarship offer up to the value of tuition. In addition, they will receive $2,500 per year for four years.
