Hey guys what are my chances at the college of Biological Sciences at UMinn?
Hispanic Male OOS
ACT-28 (31E, 28M, 26R, 29S)
3.4UW, 4.3W, 82/592 class rank (top 15%)
ECS- NHS, English Honor Society, Science Honor Society, editor of school literary magazine, Competitive swimmer (Freshman-junior year).
Part time job at a sub shop (jr-sr). Freshman boys soccer. Volunteer student tutor (soph-sr), humane society volunteer (sr)

I got in no problem with a 3.9 GPA unweighted, 29 ACT. I have an associates degree also through an early college program at my local CC but given your EC’s you should be able to get in easy. I was worried too with a meh ACT (by my standards) and very few EC’s but I made it. I’m also a Hispanic male so we have that going for us.

By the way I’m also out of state

Sweet! Thanks for your insight! Any other opinions?

good chances
Honestly, chances aren’t great for CBS. Your best bet, if you can’t get the GPA and ACT up, is to be admitted to CLA, then transfer into CBS as a sophomore or junior.
Good ECs, and URM are plusses, though. In state or out? Assuming in-state, I’d guess 20% for CBS, 100% for CLA. Less for out state.
I got into CBS about two weeks ago!
