I got a score of 87.8% in my CBSE 11th grade. I got a 94 in Biology & narrowly missed out on a 90 in Maths and English as I scored 88 in both. I got a 85 in Physics and 84 in Chemistry. I wrote SAT Subject Tests for Physics & Chemistry & got 780 in both. Do you think these marks will have a negative impact on my application considering I got 93.2% in my 10th ICSE? BTW I am asking about the top notch colleges and the Ivy Leagues.

I wouldn’t say you have the best of the grades for the ‘top notch colleges’ but you would certainly cross the cut, academically at a lot. Generally, anything above 85% is considered fine.

Cheers!

Mine was 82.3 % due to a chronic disease, my math were 64 due to a relapse. What should I do? Is it fine? @CollegeAppsAid and @CrazyScientist

@mak1702 ^Your referee should definitely mention this in his/her reference, if possible. Hopefully, they’ll take this into account. 82.3% IS NOT BAD, but a 64 in maths may or may not hurt chances, who knows? For super-selective schools, you may be at a disadvantage as their acceptance rates don’t even cross 10-12%- and they get applications from students having high 11th grades. Most of them are holistic, so all will depend on your essays, SAT scores etc etc. I suggest you to appear for SAT Math level 2 and try to cross 780 mark. Start drafting your essays because there’s not much time left now. FINANCIAL AID will play a major role for schools like Stanford, Cal tech, CMU ETC. So they’ll look at your financial condition before making you an offer, applying for aid will drastically reduce your chances of getting in.
WHY not contact the admissions officer of the university you are interested in, or may be ring them up. They are very kind and helpful and will definitely show you the right way. @mak1702. Hopefully I was of some help. Good luck with your apps.
