Has anyone else seen some of the posts on this board and think that a lot of people on here have no grasp of reality at all?

If CC is a reflection of reality to any meaningful extent, one would expect to find frequently feeble grasps on reality here.

I just think it’s so interesting as many people here see the world completely differently than me.

However there are quite a few ■■■■■■ so that skews it further, I believe.

Welcome to the internet.

Some posts are just so out there, I have to wonder about the person. Usually the only really abnormal sounding people are just ■■■■■■.

Yeah, and it’s tough not to let CC reality warp my perception of reality, either. Sometimes I start to panic because even though I have a lot going for my grad school application, I start thinking about that I haven’t managed to secure an internship in my field (because I recently changed into my final major) and then I start freaking out and convince myself that I won’t get into graduate school. Then I remember that plenty of normal people get into graduate school and I remind myself to breathe. :)

People are starving, dying, suffering, oppressed. Poverty, tyranny, destruction, all fill human society. We suffer, we die, and when called to do something meaningful, most of us opt out. We’re doomed and we’re fine with it, filling our short lives with hate and suffering and cruelty, when we aren’t simply oblivious of the wrongs around us.

But somehow the SAT or “Harvard vs. Yale” matter.

yeah…CC is good and I’ve been on here a lot lately, but it’s not reality, based on some posts, and it’s not your typical group of normal HS students…

A lot of people here dont have a sense of reality. A lot of people here are book smart, but that’s it. Some people here think we live in a fairytale and think everyone is supposed to view things the same way they do.

[Let me google that for you](http://lmgtfy.com/?q=first+world+problems)

Could you give a few examples of posts like this on CC?

Lol yes. Definitely.

Just go to the “Father out of line?” thread and you’ll see. It’s not even about if friends are important or not. It’s the fact that they can’t accept someone with a different view from them. In the REAL WORLD, you’re going to meet people who are different from you, with different views and beliefs. For some of these people to be “so educated,” they sure do lack sense of reality. It’s apparent here that being book smart isn’t really saying much.

And it’s not even like I’m basing my comment based off that one thread. I’ve seen this happen numerous times since I’ve signed up here. Some people here try to make you seem like you’re a moron if you don’t see eye to eye with that person.

Some people here wouldn’t know what reality was if it was to stare them straight in the face.

^But that was an obvious ■■■■■ thread. I found most (not all) of the responses on that thread quite reasonable.

I know lots of people like that in the real world. And there are lots of people here who aren’t like that.

People here think every thread in this forum is a “■■■■■ thread.” That phrase is used so much, I don’t know when to take it serious.

And I know there are lots of people here who aren’t like that hence why I used the word “some” and not “everyone.”

People who think you’re a moron if you don’t agree with them don’t make it far in life. Try writing your boss off as an idiot if he doesn’t agree with one of your outlooks on a company project and let’s see how far you make it. (not you Harry, you in the general sense).

Yeah… the delirious posters are almost as annoying as the “Well in the real world blah blah blah” posters

I use a simple test: Was it started by DreamingBig? -> Yeah, it’s a ■■■■■ thread.

It’s one thing to think that your boss is an idiot and quite another to tell him that to his face.

In that one is a caricature that barely ever seriously appears, and the other makes you realize how pointless your “problems” are but is also fairly rare here?

I think reality is a pretty accurate reflection of CC, actually
