I need someone to shed some light for me on the whole taking-classes-at-a-CC. Everyone says it's frowned upon to take classes that are required for your major - why is this exactly?! If Berkeley says that it is a valid equivalent, then why should grad/med schools think otherwise? I understand for lab classes and such, but are humanities or math classes really considered a poor substitute at a CC? Plus it is a billion times cheaper and close to home. I want to take a few classes this summer, since I cannot afford Berkeley summer session, but am very confused by this whole rumor/situation. need help ASAP :(

My advisor recommended it, particularly if it would help me declare faster. You still have to take the vast majority of your major related courses at Berkeley, so really, only some idealist ******bag is going to frown upon taking a non-major related class at a CC.

I have never heard of CC courses being frowned upon by grad/med school. You are most likely not able to take any courses for your major at a CC (no upper division courses), so I’m not sure there is anything to be frowned upon by grad/med school.
