CC Counselor involvement in TAG approval process

Hey guys, can anybody tell me the extent of involvement CC Counselors have on the TAG agreement? More specifically, their approval of it?

I received an email yesterday by the UC TAG website saying:

"Chris Garcia from East Los Angeles College is requesting that you provide the following information regarding your Fall 2011 UC TAG:

Please submit planned Winter '11/Spring '11 courses. Thanks!

You may update your information now at <a href="http://uctag.universityofcalifornia.edu">http://uctag.universityofcalifornia.edu</a>."</p>

I did this and resubmitted the TAG, but before that went through some of the threads regarding TAG to see if anyone had gotten back any responses on whether their TAG had been approved just to get an idea if the UC's had gotten back to anyone. After reading the threads, I came under the impression that Counselors approve the TAGs?

I know they advise students to see if they're eligible, but do they approve the courses etc? I was under the impression that the UC's do that right? The email I got saying that someone from school wanted me to add classes and resubmit only confused me more. I'm going to the transfer office tomorrow, but can anybody on here clarify for me?

I got a response back saying I needed to add in an art class. So after doing that I resubmitted my tag and received an email saying that I need to wait for october for each uc to approve the tag. So, I guess that first your tag goes through your counselors to check if you finished igetc, and then after, it goes through the ucs to see if you meet their own individual requirements (results of their approval is known during the beginning of oct).

Hope that helps…

Yes! thank you, makes alot more sense.
