CC courses during high school year.

today my mom showed me a catalogue of courses offered in a community college near me.
I'm not familiar with taking cc courses. is it like you just sign up for the real college classes, and enroll it with older college students?
would the grades you get count toward your high school GPA if i take during my high school year?

is taking a 8 weeks cc courses at nights or weekends a good choice if i'm interested in the subject? is there a lot of work required for the class that could affect my school life/ ECs.

I've taken courses in my community college and they've been pretty easy but it depends on the subject. Most of the classes are taught completely different in the community college. The subject matter is the same usually as a high school class (ex: Calculus=AP Calc) but the teachers expect you to be really mature and don't force you to do homework, take notes, show up to class, etc. Also, at my community colleges the teachers seem to have more time for each student because they usually only teach 2-3 classes as opposed to 5-6!
