I am debating on whether to take Community College classes over the summer to better my entering sophomore (I am currently a rising college freshman) transfer application for top 30 Universities. I would normally go with CC classes, but my cc doesn't offer any qualitiy courses, so I would have to take them at another CC, which means I would pay double the credit hour (not a that big of a problem), but also, it's a good 30 minutes away, so I would waste a lot on gas money. If I don't take the classes will I have a lacking "academic background" making it harder for me to succeed to transfer?

tons of views, but not responses. Come on guys!

Maybe you should give us a bigger picture? With the info you provided, I would say go for it! The fact that its thirty minutes away will build character, and if there’s nothing else productive that you can do during this summer, why not?

Well I finished high school with a 3.769 gpa, but I took the lighter “ap” classes my senoir year. I took AP stats, ap environmental science, ap gov, ap psych, hon. French iv, hon English, and PE (required). I know. I’m a moron. I was in the top 10% of my graduating class and have decent EC, but I want to better my chances. I’m going to a third tier university till I can apply for transfer. Specifically to - Northwestern, Emory, maybe Georgetown.
