I've researched online and I didn't find any names, emails, or telephone number to contact about this. I'm looking to see if out of state CC credits transfer to Berkeley. I'm prettty sure they probably don't, but I wanted confirmation from some Berkeley authority on this. I found a website that listed a lot of California CCs, but obviously nothing about OOS was mentioned.

Does anyone know whom I could contact? I was thinking that if I didn't find any specific names I could drop by the 2nd story of Evans and just be like "Seriously, people, your online resources suck? I need some help" xD lol, so...anyone know about this?

If you are in non-L&S, check with the division you are enrolled in. Also, check with the department that the courses are in and the department of your major or prospective major to check which course requirements the transferred courses fulfill.

Off topic, but don’t want to make a new thread about it… but does the transfer credits from CC count toward the unit cap that some majors don’t want you to exceed before you declare?

Say econ asks that you declare before you read 80 units, would CC credits count toward those 80 units?

YES! Your unit does transfer! It just takes a really long time for the department to process it. Most of the time, it will satisfy your breadth requirements as it did for me. I completed my AA degree while in high school in Florida and entered in with about 60 something units. The only breadth I have to take is the historical breadth. Now whether or not you want to use those units to satisfy a requirement, you would have to talk to the major advisor for that but rest assured, you will get your units.

As for the unit cap, if you’re an admitted freshman and you completed the college credits WHILE in high school then it does not go into the unit cap. For transfers, I’m not quite sure what the policy is.

If you transfer your max credits transferred in is 70 units so you’d have to apply your first semester. Otherwise if you are a berkeley student but took some cc courses concurrently then they’d count as well towards that unit cap.
