Hey guys, so I just transferred to CSUN as an EE major, but after spending a few weeks enrolled in some upper div courses, I realized I really don’t enjoy my major much. My plan is to switch to CS next semester, but the courses I would enroll in could be taken at a CC instead. If I go back to CC, I would only need 2 courses to have all comp sci prereqs complete for nearly all UCs and CSUs. After my first semester at CSUN ends, I will have 12 upper div units, and 70 CC units. This brings my total unit count to 82 which I believe is under the UC transfer unit limitation. Would it be possible for me to transfer to a UC? And would I be considered a CC student?
3 of the UCs seem to consider 80 units to make you a high-unit junior. See page 33 of https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/quick-reference.pdf
I’ll add you need to confirm more than 80 is ok with the UC campuses you are considering because on that same page it says “High-unit transfer unit counts: Junior standing: 80–89 semester (120–133.5 quarter) UC-transferable units”. You don’t want to bet the information on this forum is right without confirming yourself.
As for being considered a CCC student, it looks like you will qualify. From page 27 of the above doc:
