CC : Economics or Business?? help

Hi everyone,

I am an international student in Hong Kong and planning to study in a 2 years community college this Fall 2011 ( probably De Anza or DVC ). My dream school is UC Berkeley and Stanford.
Here's my dilemma : I am really fascinated in the field of economics, especially financial market. So, studying economics should be a great choice for me. But, as my dream career is stock analyst ( investment banking) , I heard someone said that holding a business degree ( e.g. Haas) is more competitive than holding a degree of economics if I want to work in an investment bank.

Therefore, I need some opinions from you guys/girls . Should I major in Econ?? or Business???

It depends on if you actually end up going to Berkeley or Stanford. If this comes to fruition, then I would venture to say that an econ degree should be adequate for potential employers in investment banking. Other than that, you are going to want to go for a finance degree.
