hi
I failed all my classes in first semester. I failed my english 101 class in my 2nd semester. Now I’m going to take clep to get credit for it and to be eligible for eng 200 class. I know it’s going to be on my transcript that i had failed these classes even if i retook these classes and significantly improve my gpa. I just want to know how much it’s going to affect my transfer admission.
There is no way we can answer that. We don’t know what your cum GPA will be at that point or what school you intend to apply to. Just study this time around.
At the end of your second semester, isn’t your GPA below 2.0? Did you repeat the failed classes your second semester, which essentially wiped out those failed courses? Are you on academic probation? What is your current GPA?
What caused you to fail all your classes the first semester? Were these remedial courses? If you fail a lower level class, why would you CLEP the class just to do the more advanced class (you have demonstrated that you haven’t mastered the basics)?
Go sit down with the transfer advisor at your CC, and map out a plan for getting from your CC to the college/university where you want to finish up. It might make more sense for you to re-take the classes that you have failed so that you can demonstrate that you really do have the skills needed.
