CC Friends?

I know it's early to be thinking about this (maybe after mid December/mid-March!) but is anyone on here planning on being real-life friends with any of their fellow CC'ers? As in, if three of us(you?) get into Stanford would you ever consider saying, "Hey, ______, meet me at..." This can apply to any other boards you go to/schools you applied to.

Yeah, I think it'd be interesting to finally put a face to all the personalities. Besides, its just another mutual friend, never hurts to have 'em when your new to school.

sure, why not? it's a hell of a community...

I would. I mean i email some kids i met on cc, and its cool. and at worst you meet a really weird/dorky kid and you're like "okay nice meeting you" its not like you can meet a 40 yr old perv on this site

vaish - you never know....... O.O

but yeah. why not. it doesnt hurt to make some more friends.

okay...correction: The odds of meeting a creepy-rapist-40yr old-perv are significantly lower on CC than most forums/chatrooms. I mean we're just a bunch of 16-17-18 yr olds who are all interested in Stanford. I mean I'm sure they have message boards for incoming freshmen, and I would assume plans would b emade on there w/ fellor CC-ers. I understand though, you can never be too carefull. Do any other desi's notice that you are more likely to trust another desi. Not that we don't trust gora's (I love them dearly, but...does anyone understand what I'm saying?)- I guess...never mind I'm too tired to articulate what i'm thinking.

Maybe it's just that the creepy-rapist-40yr old-pervs haven't discovered this site, but if you think about it, this would be the perfect environment for them. People are revealing their stats and where they live and where they are going to college, and a lot of the people on here go through nervous breakdowns after getting rejected from dream schools, so they'd probably be pretty vulnerable.

good point, I never thought of that...

ouch ouch ouch....way to shatter my illusion of security

turtle, I totally agree with you... it's rather creepy to consider that thought though! shudder

I'm atypical--and I'm in my 50's, not my 40's--but I've met several CC'ers over the past few years, both students and adults. Several I have a regular correspondence with, some we've had over for dinner when they're in town, and some of been extremely hospitable to me and my D when were visiting the East coast. My D met one student through me and has become good friends with her. So far as I know, I have not ever been a perv.

lolol. ok, we accept you :D

No, I hope tha I never see any of you ... ;)
