<p>I hope I did this right...these were merit designations/selections/scholarships and did not include the financially need based grants she received.</p>
<p>Good thing your D can only attend one school at a time! :) I knew she'd won several scholarships, but seeing them all together makes it all so impressive!</p>

<p>Thanks for putting this up, cheers - it's fantastic to see how well all these kids have done (and I was hoping someone would invite us to brag a little :)).</p>
<p>Well, I have a problem with this thread. It was OK to list everyone's final decision, but this one I have a problem with.</p>
<p>As far as I'm concerned, every one of our kids is Hall of Fame material.
Why does it matter whether he/she got a scholarship or not?</p>
<p>Sometimes it just depends on the college. Northwestern, for example, doesn't award merit aid--- if my S had applied and been admitted there (double legacy), he would have gotten no money. He chose a less selective college and did get a merit award. He's still the same kid.</p>
<p>Kinshasha, I agree with you on your last point ("depends on the college...."). I also agree that "hall of fame" is not really what this thread is about. It is kinda more about merit awards and frankly, lots of schools do NOT give these. My oldest child applied mostly to schools that do NOT give merit awards. I thought none of her schools did but when she got her acceptances, found out that two did (Smith and Lehigh) cause she got them which was a pleasant surprise. Actually I was not even aware that my younger D's school had these awards til she got them. But anyway, at many of the most selective colleges, there are NO merit awards. So, a kid could be getting into and going to these wonderful schools and not make this so called "hall fo fame" list. For instance, Marite's son got into Harvard...um, that is MERIT in itself, LOL! Really though, had he chosen a less selective college, he would have a list above of merit awards too. The reason I posted above, and maybe I should not have, is cause I saw someone put my D's scholar thing on the list and so I added in the others to say that many of her schools awarded such things. But had she applied to a different category of school, there may not have been ANY merit awards to be had (similar to my D1's list of schools). </p>
<p>So, at best, this thread might be better titled, where did kids get merit awards or scholar designations, with the understanding that some kids got into even more selective schools perhaps where such awards/designations simply do not exist. It is an interesting list, nonetheless because it reveals the places where such awards/designations are possible to receive for outstanding applicants. As mentioned, until either of my kids got the ones they got, I did not even know these were possibilities!</p>
<p>I think it is sweet of fireflyscout to remember my son on the list. . .there was a little more, merit/need based at Wash U, but as Kinshasa notes, a lot of the schools that these wonderful kids apply to give only need-based aid. And THAT can vary a lot, I have found. I am grateful to have colleges out there that help out in whatever way, educating, nurturing, feeding, etc! May all our wonderful kids do well!</p>
<p>I can put this thread up because you will never see either of my Ss on this list --OR the EA HYP list. Still, I'd put money on both of them as winners. </p>
<p>Some of the awards aremerit and they should post too--but some are beyond that and the number of those on CC is astonishing. Says me.</p>
<p>So ,stop whinging, get your panties out of the twist and enjoy the super success of our fellow CCrs. Life isn't always this sweet.</p>
