I’m a new member. Can someone tell me what the labels such as “Junior Member,” “Senior Member,” “SuperModerator” etc. mean?
the member labels relate to the number of posts that you have.
from what i remember, you are a new member when you have less than thirty posts. you become a junior member after you get thirty posts, and then you become a member when you get 300 posts. then finally, you become a senior member when you reach 1000 posts. that is as high as it goes.
new member (like you), junior member and senior member are automatic based on how many posts you have made. Moderator titles are for those who not only contribute, but also moderate the postings – for instance, when someone posts something extremely offensive or argumentative.
Welcome to CC!
Some postings don’t “count” towards the total posts, i.e. Parents Cafe, but it’s got some interesting topics!
And I’m always awed by those with 5,000 and more posts, imagining them like Dumbledore or a Wizard…maybe they deserve a PhD (post here, dangit!)
Thanks all.
I’ll never get promoted… I hang out in the Parent Cafe, and those don’t count!
Yeah, I didn’t know those posts don’t count.
And here I was fooling myself that I’m not on here THAT much!!!
so – which label is more prestigious, Senior Member or Supermoderator? Will it look good to top colleges? What if I just found out about this label – will it look bad if I only had the label for junior year?
LOL – I couldn’t resist!
One thing that I think is kind of cool is that your post count decreases if a thread is deleted. I think I reached 1,000 posts (or was it 2,000?) at least twice.
