CC Lingo?

I'm kind of new on CC and looking through threads and stuff I've noticed a few terms, I guess, that keep popping up. I was wondering if someone could tell me what they mean?

URM
10 RS
S/D (I think this is son/daughter)
RR
PR (Princeton Review?)

If you know, please let me know. Thanks!

URM = Underrepresented minority
10 RS = I'm not really sure. The closest I can fathom is "10 characters"
S/D = Son/Daughter
DS= Dear Son
DD = Dear Daughter (those are for pretentious parents)
RR = can't say I've seen that one
PR = Princeton Review
HYPSM = Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT (everyone asks about that one)

10 RS is 10 Real SATs, which is this really old book published by the College Board for the old SAT. RR stands for Rocket Review, which is a prep book for the SAT.

In all my bygone days on CC, I've never seen either of those. Huh.

Yeah, you didn't spend as much time lurking in the SAT forums as I did.

What does WUSTL mean?

RR=Rocket Review
WUSTL=Washington University at St. Louis

Oh, I see; I thought it was an acronym like HYPSM, lol.

HYPSMC (CalTech) i think...

a lot of posts make more sense now, haha. thanks everyone!

Still can't figure out what 10charr means...

You write "10 char" when your original response is too short to pass the amount of 'characters' needed to post it, in which 10 is needed.

Is it possible to get rid of that stupid limit, anyways? If so, they need to do it, since everyone is clearly bypassing it with the whole "10 char" thing.

On the other hand, at this point it is kinda part of CC culture...

I'm always irked when people say DS/DD; it always reminds me of some old woman who just figured out how to use the internet and is proud of little Johnny for getting a star and a smiley face on his homework.

AA= Affirmative Action.
Before this site I always thought of AA to be alcoholics anonymous... but thanks to CC I have changed.
