CC, Majors, Transfering

I meant Transferring
I just finished up my freshman year at a 4yr university (my school is pretty liberal). I had an average of a 3.4 GPA. Recently I found out from my department that my major will not be offered at the school anymore (a science based major). Instead they are combining majors from the same department so instead of learning something in a specific field, I will be learning a wide vast majority of things. The problem is the new "major/program" isn't suppose to be ready till my Junior year here. I'm afraid they aren't going to finish the plans for it by then as well as the major classes I need won't be offered ( my major course I am in now only has 8 students vs the 13 that is needed. This is a very tiny group of students for this major).

My question is should I move back home and attend the local CC nearby for my sophomore year or stick with the 4 year university that I plan to transfer out of anyways.

Another would be if I should just completely change majors when I transfer out since only 3 schools between UC and State offer my major, so I have more of a variety of schools I could attend.

If your current school is still offering the classes that you want to take next semester, I would stay with it. I’ve been having a lot of difficulty transferring out of my CC to a better school, despite having a 4.0 GPA. I think that it will be easier for you to transfer to another school with your desired program if you stay at your current school another year. However, if your current school doesn’t have the classes you need, you could also take a look at state schools because most of them are still accepting applications for the Fall semester.
