Hello! I want to go to UT but didn’t get in, although I did get CAPed the school is about 10 hours away and not appealing to me because of it, my other options would be to go to CC for a year or go to Texas state or UH for a year and then transfer.
I hear that CC wont have the uni experience but would save a ton of money has anyone gone either route of cap, CC, uni then transferred.
which would be the best option if you want to have a career in Physician assistant or Physical Therapist would I need a certain GPA for it and is CC hard?
Don’t let anyone talk you into thinking CC will somehow make you lose out on the “traditional college experience.” I don’t even know what that means, so apparently I missed out on it too, even though I live on UT’s campus. Community colleges are cheap, easier by comparison, and low commitment. I would say if you’re set on UT (good choice, by the way ), go to a CC for as long as you have to and transfer in. In my opinion, there’s no reason to pay university prices at U of H or TXST if that’s not where you want to be
Texas State is great for physical therapy. I don’t think UT even offers a PT degree, only a pre PT degree and then you have to apply to PT schools. Getting into a PT program is very competitive and you will need a very high GPA. I did go to Texas State for Health Administration and it was a great school for the health fields.
I may be mistaken but to become a PA, you have to first be a RN. All PAs I have known were RNs first. If this is true, you need to be looking at nursing schools first.
