Im currently a senior in HS. I got rejected from my dream school UW Seattle :(. But i did get accepted to UW Bothell. Im still not really sure about what i want to major in. My mom wants me to go to a Shoreline CC first then transfer in to UW Seattle. Also a lot of my HS friends are going to Shoreline CC. But i also got a lot of Financial Aid for UW Bothell so Im thinking if i should go there.

What do u think? Should i go to SCC first then transfer into UW Seattle? Or go to UW Bothell?

It’s important whether you’ve taken college credits. If you are a Running Start student and has taken more than 30 quarter credits, then I recommend you to attend UW Bothell since the number and variety of courses a CC can offer are limited. By the way, I’m wondering if you can transfer from UW Bothell to UW seattle…

if you want to transfer to UW Seattle. then I would suggest you to attend cc, because
cc receives benefits of having “priority” admissions when in comes to transfer.

All undergraduates must take a series of general undergraduate courses before they can begin work in their major. It would be cheaper to take these courses at a community college, earning a Direct-Transfer Associate of the Arts, or Associate of the Sciences degree, before transferring. Community college have small classes, and more affordable tuition than universities. The quality of education at a community college is by no-means lower than at a traditional university. If you do well with your community college courses, then you could transfer to UW-Seattle easily. UWB also shares a campus with Cascadia Community College, so you could attend there and ask UWB admissions counselors questions while you are on campus for classes at Cascadia (if you chose this route). If you really want the “on-campus”/“dorm” experience, there are apartments that Cascadia and UWB students can rent across from campus.

-attended UT Austin, and 3 community colleges

As a CC student who just got accepted to UW Seattle as a transfer, I say CC is the way to go. Classes are much cheaper, the education you get at a CC is in some ways actually superior to 4 year schools (small class sizes and instructors that you can easily talk to one on one.) and if you want to go to UW Seattle it is actually easier to do it from a CC.
My first quarter at CC I got a 4.0 and earned a tuition waver for my entire 2 years, so my schooling was entirely free.

Go to CC first. I just graduated from Cascadia CC and am transferring into my dream uni. I applied to UWS too, pretty confident I’ll get in but its not the school for me. I am definetly glad i went to CC first because not only did I save alot of money but I now feel more ready to go off to a big university.
I wouldn’t go to UWB if I were you, my community college shares the campus with UWB and it really doesn’t seem that exciting, it reminds me of my CC because its so small. You will get the same degree whather you go to UWB or UWS but if you plan to transfer to UWS its way easier to transfer with a DTA, thats what I got.

Also, the person who said the CC doesn’t offer much variety is full of it. Shoreline CC has a very large variety of classes for the freshmen/sophomore levels, and they are the same classes you’d take your first two years at a uni.

Sorry you didn’t get into UWS but you’ll for sure get in if you get your DTA and get good grades, good luck bro!
