CC: Should i finish 2 years w/ 3.5~gpa, or go to a new CC for 1 year for better gpa?

i'm going into my second year at a cc with about 3 quarters done. i had a rough first quarter: included a couple B's and one C in math, leaving me with a 2.8~ gpa for that quarter. The next quarter I took Calc 1A and failed it (passed drop deadline and I wanted to retake it, which was only possible with a poor score). I took it again in the spring and withdrew with a W. Since then I have taken 5 classes , gotten all A's. I calculated if I finish up at my old school I will end up with a 3.6+ GPA, being in the honors society, and will have retaken Calc with a A-~. I'm wondering how much the rough beginnings will hurt my chances, and how much an earnest improvement (like straight A's since that first quarter) will affect things?
Because my other option is just to take the same classes at a new school for a year and transfer with my 30 credits to a nice school with a 3.8 or 3.9 and joining their honors society. I'm starting to think this is the right path for me.

Either way I will be completing under 60 credits total, having a 2010 SAT currently( May retake again) and some extra curriculars like a part time job and volunteering regularly. I'm trying to transfer as a SOPHOMORE.

I'm looking at schools with an acceptance difficulty similar to UT Austin, UIUC, UVA, NYU, and UW Madison for example.

Improvements are always positive, you have to report all college credits and transcripts. It is up to the target school to interpolate the scores. If you get all A’s from now on that is important, you cannot fix the past.

not if i dont tell them >:]

That’s a horrible idea. You have to tell them. The odds of them not finding out are slim to none, and if they find that you “forgot” to report scores from a school, you WILL be rejected.

Worse yet that you could be admitted and after two years they found out and expell you before graduation or even rescind your degree.

great. thanks for putting my mind to rest

Point being…don’t try to withhold information from them. Your academic record is your academic record. You might not like it, but it is what you’ve earned. The overwhelming odds are that they would find out about it if you decided to lie, and then you would have that fact also permanently on your record.

you should look at this website. It takes a matter of seconds to pull up the info on all of the schools you attended. If you have gaps in education, they will for sure find out.

also, all of the school I attended give you access to this website for free.

If you don’t tell them, they probably will not find out but you will have live with that on your conscious for the rest of your life… CAN YOU HANDLE THAT? Jk Jk Jk. A lot of people on here paranoid because realistically, when a school admits a couple hundred transfer students… a few are bound to slip through without suspicion. Unless you’re applying to a top 25, it is really up to you to decide.
