CC to 4 year question

Is there a difference in the chance i'll be accepted to let's say college B if i were to go from community college with my associates degree to a 4 year school let's call college A and attend for the fall semester and apply to transfer to college B for the following semester(spring)?

versus

community college and apply to college B?

The reason is because i was originally going skip a semester(the fall) and apply to college B in the spring but i came to my senses to go to school in the fall. The problem is the deadline for college B is long over for the fall but not college A. My friend said my chances will drop a lot of getting accepted if i don't directly go from community college to college B.

It depends on the colleges. Some, like USC and Vanderbilt, have higher transfer acceptance rates than freshman. For others, the numbers are lower. If you want a better answer, tell us what schools you’re looking at:)

I would like to apply to the California state university San Jose. I am from NJ by the way, not an instate student of California.

Are you going to go to a CCC or a NJCC? That could make a difference.
