Okay so I'm currently a senior at a competitive high school in NYC and I really screwed up my first two years of HS like low 70s/100 GPA. I improved a lot in my junior year with most of my grades being in the mid 90s but slipped a lot in the first term of my senior year related to family/health problems. My situation is stable now and I'm looking to finish my last term of HS very strong (95+) and I'm considering going to a CC for two years and then trying to transfer to one of the above (looking mostly at NYU Stern and Wharton).

Is this reasonably possible and if it is, what can I do in addition to getting a high GPA at CC to help maximize my chances?

What CC would be the best option for this?

If it matters my SATs are CR:780 M:750 W:690

In this situation it is best to prepare for the worst, that you will not get accepted to any of these from a CC. It IS possible, but statistically unlikely. Princeton does not accept transfers, while the rest do. Harvard and Yale have dismally small transfer admissions numbers, with few of them being from CC’s. NYU isn’t as competitive, but Stern specifically will pose a challenge. Wharton is similar to HY in it’s difficulty in admissions.
You need a perfect or near perfect GPA and stellar everything else.

If I were you, I would NOT go to a CC… Get into the best school you can; whether it’s a state school or whatever, but anything is better than a CC when it comes to transferring to an Ivy… They’re extremely biased, so it’ll be REALLY hard to get accepted…

Good luck :)
