CC to SUNY?

I'll try to make my story as short and simple as possible. I made a lot of mistakes in the past and flunked out of community college.

Now I transferred my credits (12~) into another community college, which reset my GPA to a 0.

I was wondering, if I do good at my new CC (3.xx GPA) and obtain 24+ credits, how much will the transcript from the CC I flunked out of influence my acceptance when I apply to SUNY's?

I really want to get my act together and experience the college life at a SUNY. If anybody with extensive knowledge on this could enlighten me, that would be great.

Thank you

ur in ... don't worry abt SUNY even if u have 2.xx ... they will take u...

You should be fine, I was in a similar situation. I was at an out of state school that I was very depressed in and ended up having a .75 GPA. I then transferred to a CC for 3 semesters and made a huge improvement. I was accepted at SUNY Potsdam (they asked me to send in a supplemental essay because of my grades at the first school) and at SUNY Buffalo (I have yet to hear from Cortland, Oswego, and Plattsburgh). Basically, most SUNYs will ask for you transcript from your first school but thats only because they want to see the whole picture.

i think you should be able to do it. suny isnt that hard to get in.

just do your best.

hey, cerealkiller, what major do you take in SUNY Postdam?

i think you're in everywhere except binghamton and new paltz. but you never know! good luck

Another quick question, which SUNY would be the best to AIM for as a Computer Science major... Stony ?

lydia_paramita, I'm going to be undecided (the only school that let me put that on the application) but I'll most likely switch into history after a semester.

Sunys are quite easy to get into, but if you are looking at Stony or Bing, it won't be that easy. Those are both good schools so its harder to say you have very good chances.

Yes,Iagree with xferjhcn,Stony is a bit difficult to get into,I did a lot of research and the acceptance rate is 43% .For science majors it is even more difficult as they are more selective now than they used to be.I have been accepted there ,GPA 4.00, class rank 10% high SATS an dthey wanted more recommendation letters from my math and physics teachers.

I got accepted for this 08 fall of Binghamton School Of Management.

I am also transferring from Bergen Community College in NJ. I currently have 3.4 GPA.
I am an international student so, do not give up your hope.
