CC to UC, but then to another UC/CSU?

Hello there, this is a bit of a weird situation.

I was a CC student with about 90 units, and I accepted UCR’s offer. I attended UCR for a quarter, and I didn’t really like it there. My major was Chemical Engineering. I did 12 units, and I got a 4.0, that quarter, then I promptly dropped out. Because of this quarter, would it be difficult for me to reapply to CSUs and UCs? I know there’s some issues with senior transfers and whatnot, but in total, my units would come out to be:

70 semester from CC
9 semester from a UC Davis Summer Session during my CC years
and 12 quarter units at UCR (equivalent to about 8 semester units)

Equaling to 87 semester units, total.

This places me in a junior standing. The problem is that those 12 quarter units were from upper division chemical engineering courses, and I’m not too sure if that would pose a problem for transferring. So, I’m having trouble figuring out if I would still be considered a CC transfer, or a UC transfer, or if I could even transfer at all. I got accepted to most of the CSUs and some other UCs, and I regret not choosing one of them. If anyone could give me some advice, I’d be very grateful. I’ve just been working, but if needed, I could take some CC classes.

I’d make an appointment with an admissions advisor at whichever CSU or UC you are thinking of. It seems likely you will run into unit caps and unit in residency requirements now that you are a Jr who has taken upper division courses. You are really late for Fall 16 admissions and not every campus admits in the Spring. Ask the school directly and see what they say.

My guess, as long as you are in good standing, your path of least resistance will be at UCR. (A fine school by any standard).

You have a little over a year left before graduating and got a 4.0 in your one and only quarter on campus. Is it really that bad?
