what are the chances of a cc transfer student getting into ibanking if they recieved an economic degree from Berkeley?

I think it would be ok, but it would be a little hard buliding up ecs when you're a transfer because you would really only have a semester or two to build up your resumes before internship and fulltime recruiting. That side, I know a guy here at USC that transferred in his junior year and got an internship with Citigroup

Disagree. Berkeley is top-notch and plenty of banks come to recruit there. The most important thing is having a high GPA, just to get through the initial resume scan. High GPA at Berkeley will definetly get you some intereviews. Support that with meaningful extra-curriculars and you'll be even better off.

Once you start to interview, know finance/econ stuff inside and out. Make sure you are comfortable interviewing and show bankers that you're someone they would enjoy working around for 100 hours a week.

Bottomline: Berkeley will open a lot of doors for you if you have the grades, ECs and personality to match.

Good luck to you.

yeah but you will be competiting against other people from Berkeley for the ibanking positions and you will be behind those kids by two years. the only thing I said was that it will be hard to build up the ecs because you only have one semester to do it before summer internship recruiting.
