CC transfer GPA question.

I've been wondering about this and the counselors on my campus don't really help. So say I'm applying to transfer from a community college, PCC specifically, to a USC/etc. Do they look at my "total cumulative" GPA or just nit-pick at the specific courses.

For instance my total cumulative GPA would be 3.0 but if you disregard certain classes (they're still transferable units just not major specific like art34a, etc) my GPA would be lower.

Your cumulative will be the most important. They’ll likely look at course rigor but your overall GPA will be their bigger focus.

Cheers from a fellow PCC student by the way, I’m similarly frustrated from the lack of decent advisers.

Ah, thanks! Yeah the advisers are pretty random. I’m still unsure if I need Eng 1B or not. I’ve been told that I don’t need it and some say I need it. (I’m thinking of going to CPP/CSULB/etc for electrical engr.) and their counselors say the same as well :S
