I’m currently a freshman at my local county college. I am a business administration major. This semester has made me realize I no longer want to be in the business field. I want to achieve a BSN (bachelor of science in nursing). I graduated high school with a terrible GPA. Since I got a C+ in my high school Chem class I won’t be accepted into my CC nursing program and even I was I would have to stay in it and graduate there which is not what I want to do. I wondering if I should take classes that go along with a nursing degree and then transfer as a junior to a university. Can I transfer into a nursing program as a junior without being in a nursing program in my CC? Also should I change my major to allied health or something along those lines because I won’t be able to major in nursing? Please help. Thank you in advance.
I recently decided to do bsn also so here’s what i can tell you (not a professional, just did some research). You don’t really have to change your major or even have a major bc you would just need to look at pre reqs (if any) for nursing schools you like and add classes along with that. 1st semester i was trying to do bio but i didnt like it so i went to my advisor and she said i can just alter my classes to the pre reqs i needed then transfer to a program;u should talk to ur advisor also. U dont need to have a specific nursing or health major unless u want to cause for the most part its just doing well in pre reqs.
Hope i helped a bit!
