Hi. I've been reading these boards for the past few weeks and it has been a great source of valuable information, but now I have a question of my own:

I'm a ccc student currently in my second year so I'm deciding to which universities I want to apply for Fall '07. The problem is, each school I'm considering would require me to take different courses this Spring. Seeing as how you don't know you've been accepted until May/June, I don't know what to do. Should I just "put all my eggs in one basket" and cross my fingers hoping I get accepted? :)

I'd appreciate any advice. I know I can't be the only one facing this dilemma.

Which school do you most want to go?
I'd say take all the requirements neccessary for all schools.
But let's say you really can't do it because there's not enough time, just do the ones for your top choices.
I am having quite the same problem as you. I'm probably just going to apply to 2 or 3 schools that I know for sure I have a chance. But yeah there's some schools where I will be missing about 5 or more of their prerequisites(especially for Cal, but then I don't really care too much about going there).

is it even worth applying to a school if I haven't completed all of the prereqs?

the two schools I want to go to are usc 1st choice, ucla 2nd

I have one semester left which means I could finish the usc prereqs, or try to finish the ucla ones (don't even think I have enough time to get them all done).

would it be better to complete only one, or maybe half of both?

It depends on your major really. If it's not an impacted major like English or History then you can get away not finishing some of the prereqs for UCLA. It would also help if you're in the TAP program.

I believe for USC, depending on your major, if you don't finish your pre-requisites, it's okay. They seem less strigent.

But for UCLA, they're a lot more strict, not finishing one or two could be acceptable for a non-impacted major, but not having 3, 4 or more prerequisities could really hurt you. If you are applying to an impacted major, best to finish ALL your prerequisites unless you have a high GPA and you're in TAP.
My friend who is a bio major got into UCLA with TAP, a 4.0 GPA and two prerequisites missing(organic chem and genetics)

My other friend who is a bio major got rejected from UCLA, TAP, 3.4, but with only ONE missing prerequisite(organic chemistry).

If you try finish both, how many missing classes do you think you will have left?

As for me I am finishing up all my prerequisites for UCLA(it's my first choice).

But for USC, I'll have some GE's missing and what not, but then I I was reading their transfer brochure and they did mention something about not completing your GE's, it's okay to transfer too, if you have a strong academic record.
