CC transfer with 3.0 gpa. chances at UVA?!

Hello everyone!

I'm a second year student at Northern VA Community College and am set to apply to schools before the first of this coming March. I've had a very unstabe academic life, a flip flopping trend that shows in my transcripst starting from kindergarten. I've been continent hopping due to parents work since I was a child and naturally all those sporadic changes didn't settle well with me. Point being; I'm not a dumb kid, but have not a very impressive face in letters and numbers on paper.

I graduated from Langley High in 06, was set to go to JMU but couldn't due tofinancial reasons and talked myself into attending the local community college. I said, fine I've landed myself here so I'll work my way up and into a reputable 4 year institution in the state of VA.

The trouble started my first semester of college, I got a D in Calc. I was stupid and was peer pressured into going on to calc 2 where i naturally recieved an F. My gpa has plummeted since.

The rest of my grades consist of As and Bs. Mostly Bs. Not becaues I'm not capable but because somewhere along the dull dilapidated uninspiring environment of the cc, i seem to have lost myself of the path i was originally on.

My current gpa is a 3.0. I still have one semester to go and to take 2 courses of French plus the latter half of college composition class over the summer.

I'm looking at U.VA primarily. But also GWU, Georgetown, John Hopkins, W&M, GMU, JMU and Va Tech.

Advice on where to go from here would be MUCH appreciated.

please and thank you!!

focus on Mason/Madison/or Tech. No to the rest of them.

Sorry but i agree with the poster above me, these schools listed are beyond reach for you... GWU, Georgetown, John Hopkins, W&M.

Good luck tho!
