Hi i was originally a cc student and ended up transferring to UCSB but couldn’t get a high enough grade to get into my major after being admitted on premajor. I’m now thinking about dropping out and returning to cc to transfer once again to a CSU. I have a current 2.8 UC Gpa and a 3.43 transfer Gpa with a 4.0 Major gpa. I’ve never been on probation or anything, I’ve just been unlucky however, I really want to pursue my major and don’t like someone telling me I can’t do it. Is transferring again still possible for me? Thanks for your help!
What is your desired major?
It’s mostly a cost concern. I don’t intend to pay UC amount of tuition when I know I’m not going to be there. Also according to my advisor they will look at my cc and uc stats so I’m hoping my cc stats will at least get me in a CSU. Also I’m hoping to take some classes during summer and fall at cc to further boost my cc gpa. I just don’t want to pay that UC tuition.
Also I can apply for readmission since I am on good academic standing.
My desired major is accounting.
luke is that you?
If you lack the capital and are, for whatever reason, ineligible for loans, then I suppose you don’t have much of a choice.
If it’s simply because that you feel uneasy taking out loans, you might want to consider that in the long run the cost of spending two additional years in college (in terms of lost salary) might cost more.
Maybe you can just settle for a minor in accounting at UCSB. I’ve heard as long as you take the necessary classes it doesn’t really matter what the major is in.
If you decide to drop out, make sure that the quantity of upper division units you have taken hitherto would not render you ineligible for transfer.
