CC with TAP or without?

Should I attend a CCC that I can go in for the honors program or
another one that I can't get into?
the ones I can go into honors programs are either el camino college or pcc
but the one without is smc because I've done more than the units they have as the maximum units acceptable for their honors program.
but I want to go to SMC because they have the highest acceptance rate to UCLA and of its location.

Part of this question depends heavily on your major. TAP helps those in the College of Letters & Science department.

yeah my major is chem/biochem
so i should choose the one with tap..?

Most definitely, it is only to your advantage to take TAP.

Go ahead and go to smc if you really feel comfortable there. PCC tends to be extremely overcrowded and classes are pretty hard to come by.

i don't really know if i'll be comfortable or not at smc. just the location looked good
but i think i'll be going to el camino or pcc.
any suggestions on these two?
will it be easy to get classes here?

PCC is kind of overcrowded, but only on the first couple of days when everyone desperately trying to add classes.

At PCC, and probably elsewhere too, the more classes you have taken, the earlier you can sign up (so 2nd&3rd students get priority over freshmen&new students).

But, if you are prepared and sign up for classes immediately when you are eligible to, you should have no problem getting most of the classes you want.

thanks for your insight
i was wondering, does PCC let you register early if you're in their honors program?

sorry one more question..
are their classes really big?
(my major is chem/biochem btw)

actually.. smc's tap program has a %99 success rate (154/155 last semester), compared to most other colleges who brag about being %90.

i know but i can't get into their honors program because

Continuing College Students
(with at least 12 but less than 30 UC or CSU transferable units):
•Must have a 3.0 or higher overall GPA, and
•Must be eligible for English 1 or have passed Freshman Composition at SMC or another college.

this is their requirement but i have more than 30 transferable units because
i went to a 4 yr university for a year

yes, their quality comes at a price

"i was wondering, does PCC let you register early if you're in their honors program?"

I'm pretty sure PCC doesn't, at least for me anyways. I don't think the computer recognizes that you are in the honors program.

"are their classes really big? (my major is chem/biochem btw)"

Well, I can't really speak for science classes because I've only taken two bio classes (Environmental Bio & General Bio), but both of them were really big on lecture days. However, they were separated into 3 lab groups for different days. So, big lecture class, decent-sized lab class.

Besides some big GE classes like art history, class sizes usually range from 30 - 40.
