I'm coming to Haas(hopefully) from a CCC. So for the Haas students out there, are there any classes you guys recommend I take to prepare the best I can?

As a transfer they look for intro stat and intro bus, that's about it after econ, math, etc.

So other than required classes, what do you guys recommend? accounting, marketing courses, communications, etc?

Thanks!

they dont care what courses you take as long as you take the required ones. take accounting for sure at ccc because it will help you if you get into haas. other than those, no classes at ccc are useful. you could always be a pro and take a ton of math classes and go up thru linear algebra. math helps with everything in life.

Honestly, the most important thing is making sure that the pre-reqs you are taking at your CCC articulate properly. For the students who entered this past fall, 1,532 transfers applied and, of those 1,532 transfers, 1,199 (almost 4 in 5) were deemed ineligible due to incompleteness of pre-reqs. Besides that, make sure that your pre-req GPA is as high as possible; besides your pre-req GPA make sure your overall GPA is as high as possible. With all of this in mind, select classes in a way that maximizes both of these GPAs, so those that are easy or interesting (or, as mentioned above, practical, like math).

Thanks for the help guys. I finished turning in my application already so those prereqs(calc1+2, econ1+2, stat, yadda yadda) are all done, even all of the breadth courses that are not required anymore are already done(I’m in Berkeley TAP so I made sure I got the right classes with the counselors, thanks BBkid124). So classes to help me get in are not a concern.

I’m concerned with knowing which “extra” classes I should take while still in CCC that can help me prepare for the courses I’ll be taking in Haas. Also concerned with if I should continue with my planned courses or change it up. Haas doesn’t want any accounting for entry, but I took financial accounting anyways and I’m registered for managerial accounting for the spring(Investment, is it a good idea to go ahead and take this class anyway?).
Should I continue and take multi-variable calc? I’m worried I’ll be running a big chance at taking a hit to my GPA before transfer if I do.
