Is going to a California Community College first to take your General ED then transfer to a UC good for Computer Science?
Note: I am a developer (iOS) and I’ll still be working on plenty of programs, websites, and apps during that time.
Due to variations in frosh/soph CS courses, many combinations of CCs and UCs would be hard to complete the frosh/soph CS courses before transfer, resulting in the need to take lots of “catch up” courses after transfer, possibly delaying graduation. In general, the CCs nearby a given UC are the most likely to have matching CS courses (e.g. Laney and Diablo Valley with UCB).
You can use http://www.assist.org to see which CCs have the best coverage for a given UC’s CS major.
