CCI grant?

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone who was accepted under RD had recieved any news about a CCI grant? Given my family's finances, we had assumed that I'd get the grant for a new laptop, but I haven't recieved any information about it. Has this information been released yet?

Have you confirmed your acceptance yet? I believe they only offer them to students who have committed to UNC. I’d guess they’ll have info about CCI after May 1st when everyone has made final plans.

Yes, I have confirmed my acceptance. Thank you so much for your input! I’ll just keep an eye out for any info that might come along :)

I could be completely wrong about this (is was two years ago =P), but I don’t recall getting a CCI notification until May. Like GeeFizz implied, I think the university waits until the deadline to confirm acceptance from everyone before distributing the grants accordingly.

If you have any questions, let me know. I deal with CCIs a lot at my job and have become quite familiar with the policies, etc.

Did you get your financial aid package? I’ve been told that if you get any financial aid from UNC (I’m guessing this means grants) you get a laptop grant.

Ok … I know this is a stupid question to ask, but it has been bothering me so much. Today I received an email that said I have been awarded a full CCI Laptop Grant. It said that the award will cover the full cost of the CCI ThinkPad T440 Ultrabook Package. So that means I am going to get the laptop for free for the next 4 years in college, right?

Yes and you have a 4 year warranty… If you leave before graduating, you have to return it. I assume its yours to keep if you graduate.
