I am one of two local Cincinnatians accepted into the Drama proram. I plan on attending CCM if I dont get off Carngie Mellon's waiting list.

I plan on living in the new (Spring 2005) University Park Apartments (not affilaited with UC). If you plan on having nice dorm adjacent to the CCM "village" than I would suggest to apply for housing now, there are going fast.

You already know you are on CMU's waitlist? I didn't realize anyone would know at this juncture. My D was an applicant last year and notification of decisions went out close to April 1. She as on the Priority Waitlist but that is when THAT notification came. You already have a decision that you are on the waitlist? It would be interesting to learn if people found out earlier as I am not aware of that outcome. Thanks. Congrats on CCM!

soozievt-
I was under the same impression as you...my d is not expecting anything from CMU until the first of April...

Hopefully Taylor will come back and answer because I'm very interested in learning as much as I can about these schools and situations that come up.

I'm familiar with CMU having had a child waitlisted there last year.

On the Parent Forum, someone recently posted that their child was accepted to NYU (not Tisch) and to several other schools and is waiting on more admissions decisions. Also, that their child won a Trustee Scholarship at NYU. This baffled me (and other posters) as well because I know NYU notifies applicants on April 1. I'm pretty familiar with that process as my D was accepted (and now attends) last year and also won a Trustee Scholarship. I don't know how anyone would know they were accepted to NYU yet unless ED and that doesn't make sense in light of the fact that this poster's child had other acceptances in hand and was waiting to hear from the rest of their list (that doesn't gel with ED, nor did they state it was ED). Myself and others asked that person to clarify how they were already in at NYU and that person never came back to do so.

Taylor, so many folks here are very interested in the process with each school and any variations that come up. If you can explain when you were waitlisted, that would help. In any case, you seem to be doing well in your process.

Yes, I'm not sure how there could be any possible way you'd know you were on the waitlist at Carnegie Mellon...especially before auditions were over and before they've decided who to accept.

I'd be great if you could elaborate on that statement! Thanks!

Does CCM drama have rolling admissions? I think they send out all the MT in bulk... They told us mid-March... I believe, @ the audition. I dunno. I was there for the last audition for Fall 06.
Congrats acceptees and good luck to everyone else!

I would guess CCM must have rolling for Drama as I had two students get acceptances at NET auditons in November pending a completed application.

Makes sense?

xxx,Mary Anna

CCM has rolling admissions for both drama and MT - if they told you mid-March, they may have been referring to decisions regarding your particular audition date.

I appreciate ur help!

CCM drama has rolling admissions and gets back to you in about 2 weeks after audition.

Quick question- My D auditioned for ccm mt feb 8th and hasn't heard anything. they had told them they would hear in 2 weeks and its been 3-

My son heard in 2 weeks, but that was dramatic performance, not MT. Have you checked on line? We actually found out first by checking the on-line confirmation link on the UCinn site. However, I think that MT handles things differently, based on conversations with friends that have a daughter that just auditioned for CCM MT.

Good luck

I went to CMU's Pre-college program and had the privledge of getting to know Gary Kline. I also had the privledge of taking a few private lessons from Gary, so we became friends. While talking to him about my audition for them and my situation with CCM he suggested, informally, that I probably wouldn't be accepted, but rather waitlisted. I didn't mean to cause any stir or confusion.

Yo playas!!!!
im ROSS Francis
i got into CCM drama and will be going there if i dont get off Juillaird's waitlist/ dont get into Carnegeie Mellon/ dont get into Cal Arts.

im excited to get into such a good school. i just ofund out i was wait listed at Juilliard!!! only 28 got that far. I didnt even think i owuld get a call back!

My CCM status check page just changed to:

The CCM Undergraduate Admissions Committee has reviewed your application and an admissions decision will be mailed to you.

When UMich did this, I ended up not getting in. Does this message always mean you've been rejected? Does anyone know the answer to this in CCM's case? If it DOES mean you've been rejected, why can't they just tell you online and spare the extra week of agonizing?!?!?

GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

My son found out he was accepted on line. His status showed accepted to dramatic performance. However I'm not sure if this is the same for MT.

Good luck!

In Scruggz defense, CMU has in the past wait listed quite a few students.

i just wanted to get in touch with anyone else who has been accepted to ccm musical theater or drama. i have been accepted as an mt and i would love to hear from the rest of you joining me next fall.

jakebridges03@yahoo.com

Hey Jake,

I wanted to extend my congratulations to you on your acceptance into the MT program. Although, I was accepted into dramatic performance I know quite a bit about both programs. If you have any questions that you think I might be able to answer, then, feel free to drop me an email or post your inquiry on here so that other people may be able to help you.
