I auditioned yesterday..I thought it went really well but still it's such a competitive program to get into. Who else auditioned already and how'd it go? Did they "adjust" your monologue at all? I'm nervous because they didn't work with me on mine.
What interview questions did they ask you? Thanks everyone! :)

My daughter auditioned on Jan 14 and you can’t really judge by that. Everyone came out with a different story. Have you heard of anyone who has heard back about Drama yet?

They should get back to you within two weeks or so. Jan 14th people hear today from what I was told. If you got asked to work pieces, that normally is a better sign, it means they are interested and want to test your ability to take direction. At least most directors I have talked to have said more time=a better sign. It’s not always so, but normally that’s what I have heard. Hope this helps!

We do go round and round on this subject, but just for the sake of perspective, I’ll say that of my D’s 6 auditions, the only one that had her “work” her monologue rejected her. The other 5 were very calm, hard to read, asked for nothing extra; 2 accepted her and 3 rejected her.

Just be proud of the work you are doing and try to put it out of your mind until you hear the actual answers.

That seems like the best way to handle it regardless, well said. :)

This was on the check-my-status website:

"After careful consideration of your application, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission into the Bachelor’s degree program in Musical Theater offered through College-Conservatory of Music for Fall Semester 2012-13.
This decision was based on the following reason(s):
Did not Meet CCM Evaluation Standard

You should have or will receive a letter in the mail.

If there are other academic options at the University of Cincinnati, the details will be in this mailing."

I wasn’t expecting to get into MT, but does this mean I didn’t get into drama either? Or they haven’t made a decision yet? I only auditioned a week ago…but does drama post acceptances/rejections online as well?

I think that means you were not accepted into MT. I think you get something else for Drama. If anyone has heard anything, please let me know.

Got the letter today. She did not get into CCM Drama. If anyone else is waiting it looks like letters come in the mail.

I auditioned February 11th at CCM. I love the theatre and have been apart of quite a few productions but I am unforunately an anxious mess which typically affects my audition experience. But, from the warm up with k. Jenny Jones and current students to the audition itself I felt nothing but relaxed. My audition went smoothly and I truly believe I presented my best work I couldn’t stop smiling after I completed my audition because it was almost like even my body felt the work. I wasn’t asked to make an “adjustment” aswell which isn’t really a bad thing; one of my friends auditioned for NYU-Tisch for the BFA Acting Program and they didn’t ask him to adjust and he got in there so I believe the same is true. I was asked by Rocco Dal Vera following an observation of resume “Do you believe this program is right for you considering most of your theatre credits are musical theatre related?” and he along with the other faculty appeared really impressed with my answer and as a follow up question I was asked “What was my favorite role?”, an answer which was also well recieved. Overall, eventhough I will be very disappointed if I do not get into the program this year, I can be satisfied that I gave a great audition and had a wonderful day spending time with a warm faculty of on such a cold day in Cincinnati, Ohio.

What did your daughter(s) audition with i.e. what monologues did they perform and what interview questions were they asked?
