CCM Drama

Hey Guys,

I auditioned for CCM MT and Drama in January and was accepted and now I am trying to weigh the pros and cons between BoCo and CCM. When I auditioned for CCM Drama I was immediately drawn in and fell in love with it even more than I was before…I am a strong Actor and Singer and I dont favor one over the other so I have narrowed my school decisions down to BoCo for MT and CCM for Drama. I just wanted to know if anyone else had been accepted and if anyone had any first hand information about there experience in the program…

Robert Hess is the bomb and the program works with the leading acting professionals IN THE NATION/WORLD (We have been talking through email and he told me that Ann Bogart, acting revolutionary!!! and creator of viewpoints, came to there school like a week or to ago).

Most people think that I am crazy for wanting to go to CCM Drama rather than CCM Musical Theatre, especially as a strong singer and performer, but what I relate to all kinds of performance(musical theatre, dance, singing) from an actors stand point and I think that going there could be potentially a really good move for me.

Basically I want to know more…

When I visited I saw a production of Orpheus Decending. Absolutely fantastic. I have visited both schools and even though I believe the programs are both fantastic CCM does have a much nicer facility. It also looks like CCM is a more selective school, so your training seems much more one on one. Hope this helps. Good luck with your decission!

Hey hunchun whats up? I was accepted into CCM Drama as well and will be attending it in the fall. I have yet to be able to tour it but i’l be going up there in aprilish. I’m to9ld nothing but amazing things about the CCM Drama and anywhere you look you’ll find that they have the best equipment around. And you are compltly correct Hess=s awsomeness. I’ve done alot of research and from what ive seen its a very selective, high quality, and intense Drama program- exactly what you need if you plan on becoming a professional actor. I auditioned/ was accepted over the summer, did you audition on campus/ if you did can you tell me about it please? i hear its beautiful.

I didnt audition on campus. I auditioned regionally in Atlanta. I have been in contact with Mrs. Jones over there(she sent out an email to accepted kids outlining the program) and she has a ton of info if you are still trying to decide between things. The acting training there is RIDIC.

humchun102, Congratualtions!
In your first post you said that you applied to both Drama and MT. Did you get accepted into both programs?

hey I got my official acceptance letter from CCM last week and it only said that I was accepted into the Drama program. So I am pretty sure I was only accepted for Acting. I was talking to the Theatre Director of the Drama program and I think they work that kind of thing out before making the offer. I have decided to go to the Boston Conservatory but the CCM Drama program is truly one of the most innovative and creative acting programs in the nation so if you are considering it GO. .Sorry for the confusion.

Hope everyone is selling it at there auditions.

you received your acceptance letter to boston conservatory already?

He was accepted on the spot at his audition.
